Το Πακιστάν συνετρίβη από το Champions Trophy 2025, προτρέποντας τον προπονητή του Aaqib Javed να ζητήσει τις εντολές και την πολιτική του διοικητικού συμβουλίου.
In the ongoing Champions Trophy 2025, the Pakistan cricket team had a disappointing campaign, exiting the tournament before their final group match. Under Mohammad Rizwan’s leadership, the team faced defeats against New Zealand and India, leading to heavy criticism from both fans and analysts. Despite bringing the hosts the team failed to win a single match as of now.
Aaqib Javed’s approach to Pakistan’s team
Interim head coach Aaqib Javed responded to rumours about the harsh treatment of the players during this tough phase. Addressing the media before the Bangladesh match, he clarified his stance: “I don’t scold the players at all. Because in our culture, the teacher scolds, beats, the coach scolds, and abuses. I don’t believe in this. I respect players. You can help them. You can make them practice whatever they want. I am not the one who can scold people or say anything to them.” Javed emphasized his respectful approach toward player development, rejecting traditional methods of scolding.
The need for consistency in Pakistan cricket
Discussing team challenges, Javed highlighted the scoring rate as a key issue, stressing the importance of adapting to conditions. He explained: “We mix things up – Like in the T20 World Cup – 220 is a far-off target – we were not even scoring 120. So, overall, if you talk about cricket – there we scored 150-125 – there was no need to do 250. So, overall, we have to improve our game, and for that, we need consistency.”

Aaqib Javed on Pakistan cricket board
Javed also shed light on broader structural challenges, pointing out the need for stability within the cricket board. “Consistency in your cricket board, consistency in every aspect. Because if you look at the past 4-5 years, the changes that have come to the Cricket Board, until you will not let a policy run for a long term, you will not get consistency. We talk about the players; we compare them with other teams. You should compare the board also – until you don’t become consistent, till you don’t let a policy run for a long term, it will be difficult,” he added. Javed’s remarks suggest that long-term policy implementation is critical for the team’s future success.
