The bail change superstition was once again at play in IND vs AUS 4th Test and Yashasvi Jaiswal was having none of it. As it has been so often seen in the series, the players believe that interchanging the bails will bring them good luck and perhaps a wicket. This time, Mitchell Starc decided to give it a try but Jaiswal stood his ground and firmly stated that he believed in none of that.

No bail change game for Yashasvi Jaiswal
The incident occurred in the second session of play at the MCG as Rishabh Pant and Jaiswal were batting. Starc switched the bails at the non-strikers end following which Jaiswal quickly rearranged them again. The Aussie pacer asked the southpaw what he was up to after citing superstition as the need for changing the bails. Jaiswal responded that he only believed in himself and that was why he was there at the crease.

Yashasvi and Pant ensured that India went without losing a wicket in the second session on Day 5 at the MCG. After losing the top-order quite early on in the run-chase, the duo stitched together a 76-run partnership in the 2nd session, giving India some hope to finish the game with a draw.
Playing unlike his usual self, Jaiswal slammed his second consecutive half-century off 127 deliveries – his slowest fifty in his Test career so far. The southpaw was keen to redeem himself after getting run-out in the 1st innings for 82 runs, narrowly missing out on what would have been a well-deserved hundred.
