The anticipation grows for the upcoming India vs Pakistan clash in the ICC Champions Trophy. However, former India star Irfan Pathan has claimed that the India Cricket Team are firm favorite to win the encounter. Pathan believes that Pakistan has plenty of problems in their team which will work in favor of the Men in Blue.
Both sides had contrasting starts to their Champions Trophy campaign. Pakistan were handed a defeat in their opening game, while India dominated in their game against Bangladesh. And now it is do-or-die for the Pakistan Cricket Team, as a defeat can see them bow out of the tournament.

“When it comes to Pakistan, look, they have plenty of problems in the team. As far as some of the senior guys (are concerned), they don’t play that kind of aggressive modern-day cricket, especially in white-ball cricket. So, can they change it? It’s very difficult,” Pathan told PTI Videos on Friday.
Further problems in the team include the failure to perform by the senior players in the squad. The forms of Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam have been questioned. Irfan Pathan claimed that the senior batters of the team don’t play modern-day cricket and this can lead to their downfall.
“But more than the weaknesses and the strengths, it’s all about the India-Pakistan occasion. Whoever handles the occasion really well, that team wins. What we have seen in the recent past with the Indian team, we know how to handle a tough situation and the big occasion as well. As far as the talent is concerned, we are far ahead, especially in one-day cricket,” he concluded.
