Gujarat Titans spinner Sai Kishore and Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya had an intense moment on field on Saturday. The incident occurred during MI’s unsuccessful run-chase in Ahmedabad where they eventually went on to lose the game by 36 runs. Saturday’s defeat meant the Titans stayed unbeaten at the home ground against MI.
What happened between Kishore & Hardik?
The incident occurred in the 15th over of the game when Kishore was bowling to Pandya. The MI captain defended a delivery off the spinner following which the two had an intense staredown. Pandya even gestured Kishore to go away but that only led to the GT star staring down ever more hard on the MI player. Eventually the umpire had to intervene as the two players continued to move closer while not taking their eyes off each other.
What did Kishore say about it?
Speaking about the incident at the post-match presentation, Kishore brushed aside any bad blood between the two. The duo were also seen hugging it out with all smiles after the game ended.
“Nope, he’s a good friend of mine, inside the field it should be like that. Inside the field, anybody is an opponent but we don’t take things personally. We are good competitors, that’s how I think the game should be,” Kishore said.
Hardik managed to score just 11 off 17 deliveries in the run-chase, clearly being choked by the GT bowlers. Kishore, on the other hand, finished with figures of 1/37 from his 4 overs. This was Pandya’s first game in IPL 2025 as he had missed the previous game due to a suspension. Kishore, on the other hand, had a fabulous first outing in IPL 2025 for GT, picking up 3 wickets.
