Former Indian cricketers Virender Sehwag and Parthiv Patel couldn’t help but laugh at Pakistan’s plight in their Champions Trophy opener. Babar Azam, who played a awfully slow 64-run knock, drew flak for his innings against New Zealand. While Sehwag was completely unaware of Babar’s nickname “Bobzy”, Patel pointed out that Azam surely had the ability to finish before he broke into a fit of laughter.

Sehwag, Patel troll Babar Azam
In a discussion with Cricbuzz, Sehwag and Patel were asked by the anchor as to whether there was “Bobzy kar lega” vibe in Pakistan’s Champions Trophy opener. Sehwag, who admitted that he had no idea about the famous meme or the nickname, asked who “Bobzy” was. He stated that Azam could have taken Pakistan across the line had he stayed till the end.
“Bobzy hai kaun, pehle mujhe yeh bolo (Who is Bobzy, tell me first.) He was batting well. If he had stayed till the end. I have no idea about the meme,” Sehwag said.

“Obviously, Babar Azam has that ability (to finish the game). There is no doubts about that,” Patel said before breaking into a fit of laughter. Sehwag then remarked, “Bobzy, King. Aur kitne naam hai unka (How many more names does he have?)“
Babar took 90 deliveries to get to 64 runs in Pakistan’s run-chase of 321 runs. Batting first in the contest, the Kiwis were powered to a mammoth 320-run total in the 1st innings. Centurions Will Young (107) and Tom Latham (117) punished the Pakistan bowlers, taking the pacer trio of Shaheen-Naseem-Rauf to the cleaners.
In response, Pakistan played an alarmingly slow-paced innings. In the absence of Fakhar Zaman, Saud Shakeel was sent to open with Babar Azam but he only managed to score 6 runs. Late heroics from Salman Ali Agha and Khushdil Shah couldn’t help Pakistan get past the winning line as they were bowled out for 260 runs.
