India cricket team skipper Rohit Sharma has slipped below the top 30 in the rankings for Test batters for the first time in 6 years. The Hitman’s form in the longest format of the game has been miserable in the latter half of 2024 and has extended to IND vs AUS 2nd Test. Meanwhile, batting maestro Virat Kohli has slipped 6 spots to the 20th position. England’s Harry Brook is the new number one Test batter after his stellar performance against New Zealand in the recently-concluded Test series.

Rohit Sharma out of top 30 Test batters’ rankings
Prior to IND vs AUS 2nd Test, Rohit Sharma was on the 26th spot on rankings for Test batters. However, after scores of 3 and 6 in Adelaide, the Indian skipper has slipped to a new low – the first time that he has fallen out of the top 30 in 6 years. Virat Kohli, who has failed to fire so far in IND vs AUS Test series, has slipped down 6 spots to jointly hold the position along with Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan. Yashasvi Jaiswal continues to occupy the 4th position while Rishabh Pant has slipped down three places to the 9th position.
